The EA powered service Origin has made Titanfall on PC available for free for a 48 hour period.
In what could be seen as a move to counter Steam’s Summer Sale, Titanfall is the first in what EA is referring to as ‘Origin Game Time Promotion‘ which is also similar to Steam’s Free Weekend Offers where by players can play the full version of a game to play for a weekend and if the player likes the game enough has the option to purchase it at up to 50% off.
EA stated through their Origin Blog:
We’re launching Origin Game Time for Titanfall across the world over the next several hours, so if you don’t see it available yet in your territory, you will soon. Origin Game Time games will appear on our Free Games page when they’re available to download.
It was also stated that if the player chooses to buy the game once the 48 hour period has come to a close then all their progress and unlocks would be carried over into the full game. EA finished by saying:
Titanfall is only the beginning for Game Time and there’s more on the way. Each Game Time will be unique: different game, different time on the Game Time clock.
As we previously reported here at Battle Misfit, Origin’s latest ‘On The House‘ offer is PopCap Games Peggle.
