In an announcement via the Telltale Games blog, it was revealed that Mojang and Telltale Games are working on a new episodic series based on Minecraft.
Also in a tweet by Telltale Games, it was said that if you played the Mini Game ‘Info Quest II’ “You might learn something…”
It actually turned out to be an interactive press release revealing details of ‘Minecraft: Story Mode’
“Minecraft: Story Mode will be an all-new narrative-driven game series developed by Telltale in collaboration with Mojang. Set in the world of Minecraft, the series will feature an original story, driven by player choice. It will not be an add-on for Minecraft, but rather a separate stand-alone product that will premiere in 2015 on consoles, computers and mobile devices.”
Although this new Minecraft game will be narrative and story driven, Mojang do not intend on creating and official story for ‘Steve’ or to explain the Minecraft world in greater detail, they just intend for it to be a “cool game for all their fans to enjoy”.
Minecraft: Story Mode is due for release sometime in 2015 for Xbox One and 360, Playstation 3 and 4, PC, Mac, iOS and Android devices
