In a update to our earlier story below, Microsoft have confirmed via Eurogamer that the offer also applies to UK and Canadian gamers. A Microsoft spokesman stated that

“This short-term promotion is offered to select Xbox fans in the US, Canada and the UK. We are always looking for opportunities to bring promotions like this to our customers, but we have nothing further to share at this time.”

As part of a new promotion, Microsoft are offering people who own the Xbox 360 $75 if they were to upgrade to the Xbox One

A user on NeoGAF named BeforeU was faced with this message when she turned on their Xbox 360;

“As our way of saying thanks we’re giving YOU, one of our best customers, an exclusive $75 promotional code with the purchase of any Xbox One or Xbox One bundle from Microsoft Store or your local retailer. Your code can be used for games, add-on’s, movies and more!”

According to some Xbox 360 users, not everyone has been offered the opportunity to be part of the promotion and its also unclear whether the promotion will be available to gamers in other territories. Below are screenshots of the promotion:
